From the article: Unusual Aquariums
During a cross country road trip I came across the most unusual place I've ever seen an aquarium. Seeking a place to satisfy my sweet tooth, I stopped at a Dairy Queen and was stunned to find a freshwater aquarium at the counter.
This wasn't just a fishbowl sitting on the counter, mind you, this was a fill sized tank built into the counter. Definitely a jaw-dropper. What about you - where is the most unusual place you've ever seen an aquarium? Unusual aquarium stories

Unusual Aquarium Fish
- I worked in Alexandria, LA during the Hurricane Katrina recovery. The local shelter was overrun with so many abandoned animals. I decided to adopt a small long haired cat, she had been somebody's little diva and loves being carried around. I carried her into the shelter office to fill out the paperwork. But she lept from my arms to hide in the corner when she spotted the biggest tiger Oscar I'd ever seen in a tank! The fish was looking right at my new cat (lunch?). She was understandably intimidated since he was bigger than the cat! She loves to watch my aquarium fish now, but my fish are normal sized.

Emergency Waiting Room
- The Emergency Room waiting area at our local hospital has a large freshwater aquarium in the section set aside for kids. It's a great idea, very calming and something interesting to look at while people wait.

Unusual Aquarims
- I have a 20 gallon aquarium inside of a nautical coffee table. This table is of solid pine with 2 brass portholes on both sides. The top of the coffee table is solid pine with glass, outlines with nautical rope. There are 2 brass bands with copper nails on each side of the top. This coffee table aquarium is stained walnut. On both ends of this table are nautical rope handles.

Room Divider
- I once went to the apartment of a colleague, where the above-the counter divider between the kitchen and livingspace was an aquarium.
