Breeding.
- I've breed these lil critters in captivity. very easy to do so. you need: 1 10gl tank. lotta marbles. Pile the marbles up to 2 inches from the bottom. Add water, preferably 3 inches over the marbles. Add a ripe female to the tank and condition her with live worms for 2 days. Add a male on the 2nd day evening. You will see them mate the following morning. Remove the male and female and add methyl blue to kill any fungus and add an airstone. thats it.

Wild Freshwater Fish
- For those of us that want to collect our own fish, there are many breeds that are very easy to raise. Red-eared Sunfish is terrific. I have kept them for years(55 g tank), feeding them Oscar color enhancement food and they are beautiful. They are entertaining and fast growing. Another great fish is the Largemouth Bass. They adapt very fast and will take about any live food you give them. I'm starting a new 55 gal. soon and am going to stock it with tropical from the Everglades. Little or no heat required. If anybody has stocked out of the Everglades, let me know. This will be my first time but I cant resist the urge to raise free tropicals. If anyone cares to know what varieties there are, find the invasive species of Florida. There are no regulations on MOST of them, so you can collect all you want. Most common are Oscars, which can be caught on hook and line or cast net. The color variation is much different than a store. Have Fun, Calvin

Lil Zebera vs the big bully Rainbow
- These little guys are the bomb! But we keep losing some of them. We lost 5 so far, out of 12, bought in groups of 4s. We think the our bully rainbow shark is dining on them, but there never any evidence. We really enjoy watching these little guys, we are now getting ready to be grandparents, so if anyone got any advise on prepareing a fishy nursery, let us know.

Zebra Danio
- We have a few Danio, they are really great. I love watching them chase each other and when its feeding time they all come up to the top waiting for me I recommend Zebra Danio for anyone who wants to get fish.

Zebra Danio - Caution
- As far as a community fish, the danios of any variety are perfect. However be cautious when keeping them in a tank with fish such as guppies or fancy goldfish. Danios are tail nippers and will often chase after slower fish with elegant tails. Will it kill your other fish? Most likely no. But it would be a shame to have a pretty guppy or goldfish with some battle wounds

Zebras
- I have 13 of these in a 20 gallon tank. They are very active and love to swim around the anacharis growing to the top of the tank. I also have a medium pleco in with them and they all get along great.

Z Shape
- Regarding that Z Shape you mentioned, do you mean a curve of the backbone area? If so, this is fatal - I can't remember the name, I think they call it TB in the zebras. There is nothing you can do once one has it, and it is highly infectious so don't touch the dead fish!!! Make sure you clean out your tank and DO NOT buy any zebras in a TB infected tank! This is what I read on the net from memory, so google TB in danios for more information :) xx

red belly
- we have just bought 3 zebras and two leopard danios, they've been fed the same food - frozen bloodworms and daphnia + dried daphnia. now one of the zebras has a red patch in the middle of its belly and is swimming on its own, we think there is something wrong with it. Has anyone else expierienced this. we are

Zebra Danios
- I feed my danios flake food. They enjoy it. They are very hardy and ajust well to every tank, although my black skirt tetras sometimes nip at their fins. Two of them died while I was in the process of changing my tank water levels and PH. Only one left. I love him, especially his lil' mouth. >:()

zebra danios and red eyed tetras
- I have 5 zebras & 5 tetras in a community tank. The seem to enjoy mingling & they aren't aggessive toward each other. I wasn't sure I wanted them at first because they are so small, but they are flashy & entertaining - they don't ever seem to slow down! And I've never seen such beggars. It's tempting to feed them every time they beg - I have to really resist.

Simply Beautiful
- My daughter has become obsessed with the Danios. I bought her a smallish tank and once the water is balanced I promised some long fin zebras and some regular ones. I wanted Glofish but it turns out they're illegal for purchase in my country.

I have them!
- I have five of them in the tank, and they're so fun to watch! :D But they're not spawning yet! I saw several males, chase just one female but I don't see any egg.

Zebra danios that are "Z" shaped???
- Recently I have had a few of my zebra danios die from a strange disease. I’ve had them for over a year and before this have only had one fatality when one swallowed a corn borer caterpillar that chewed up its insides. They stop eating, get thinner and the body takes on a strange “Z” shape. After a few days they die, usually at night. This week I saw a tank full of newly arrived zebra danios in a local pet shop and about 5% had this shape. Anyone else observe this?

Hi
- Well these little guys have tons of energy and are fun to watch. I have 4 of them, two long finned zebra danios and two glofish. The thing is though the zebra ones keep chasing the glofish and the glofish don't chase the zebra ones. I think they get along but i'm not sure if the zebra danios are hungry or something. But anyway they are definetely very hardy fish and some of the funnest ones to watch. I definetely recommend these to begginers

Finn Nipping
- Help! I bought 2 of these little guys to accompany my male betta in a 10 gallon tank. One was significantly larger than the other, and it chased my little one around closely (nipping lightly on its back fin) now the little guy stays in one spot as if it is afraid to come out from fear of being picked on. Is this possible, what can I do to fix this?
