Carnivorous fish require diets that are high in animal protein. Bloodworms are one of the choice foods for not only carnivores, but other fish as well. Fresh bloodworms are preferred, but are not easy to procure, and can carry disease. Freeze dried bloodworms are readily available, high in protein, and disease free. Here are my top bloodworm choices.
I tried these and became hooked immediately. Fish gobble them up, they are easier to keep than frozen or live bloodworms, and the dispenser is easy to use.
Suspended in a nutrient gel, this has to be the most unique method for offering bloodworms Ive seen. Initially the fish werent sure what they were, but once they found out they readily accepted them. This is a great alternative to live bloodworms, which are often hard to find.
Very comparable to the Hikari product, but offered in a smaller traditional screw top can.
When it comes to frozen foods SF Bay is top notch. My preference is for the frozen cubes, which are easy to dispense and can often be found at pet shops. If you can't find those, the freezed dried variety is next best thing.
Another frozen product, that is offered in a pouch or in handy cubes for eash of dispensing.
