Definition: Bulb are tightly packed fleshy leaves used as a storage organ. It is very thick and it's purpose is for the storage of nutrients. When it branches it develops brood bulbs, which can be detached for propagation. Onions and tulips are examples of plants that have bulbs. A number of aquatic plants grow from bulbs and can be purchased in bulb form, which is safer to have shipped than live plants.
