Acanthocephala

Definition: Acanthocephala is a group of approximately 400 species of parasitic worms that infest a variety of fish in the wild. They are often referred to as Thorn-head or Spiny-head worms. Because they have a very complex life cycle, they rarely pose problems for aquarium fish.
