Books are invaluable to all fish owners, from beginner to advanced. These are my top Angelfish reference book choices.
This is a good book for the beginner angelfish owner. Topics covered are habitat, basic care, angelfish types, breeding, and disease diagnosis and treatment.
Covers all the basics of care, feeding, health, and breeding. Written by Dr. Axelrod, who shares many of his own experiences raising angelfish.
A newer release from Bowtie Press, this volume covers a number of cichlids in addition to Angels. Included is basic care, maintenance, breeding instructions, and many color photographs.
This book is a slightly newer edition of 'The Guide to Owning Angelfish: Disease, Varieties, Care, Species, Breeding.' Although it is a bit newer and in a special library binding, the information is essentially the same. I'd opt for the other revision, as it costs quite a bit less.
Part of the Barron's Pet Owner's series, this book covers all the basics needed to keep and breed freshwater Angelfish. Included is the history of Angles, advice on tank selection, water requirements, food selection, diseases and treatment, as well as genetics and breeding. Includes many excellent color photos.
Aqualogs are designed to maintain consistency fish identification, regardless of nomenclature changes. Each fish has at least one color photo, basic information, and a description. Regular updates are published to keep the original volume up to date. This volume covers wild caught, German, European and Asian breeding forms of discus and angelfish.
