How to Make Fry Food

Live Brine shrimp or special fry foods can be hard to find. Here's a quick way to make your own food for baby fish.

Difficulty Level: easy      Time Required: 20 minutes

Here's How:
  1. Get an inexpensive pepper mill, small glass bottle with lid, and small piece of fine nylon window screen.
  2. Purchase a small container of shrimp pellets at your pet shop.
  3. Purchase a small container of spirulina pellets at your pet shop.
  4. Grind the shrimp and spirulina pellets until they are very fine.
  5. Put the finely ground mixture in the clean glass bottle.
  6. Cut a piece of the nylon window screen a little larger than the bottle opening and force fit it into place.
  7. Once all the fine food is gone, remove the screen and feed the larger pieces to the adolescent fish.
Tips:
  1. A well cleaned coffee grinder can also be used to grind pellets.
  2. Spice bottles are good for storing the ground food.
