Oceanic Aquarium Stands
Medium to large aquariums need sturdy support. If you don't have the time or means to build a custom stand yourself, there are attractive ready-made stands available. These are my favorites.
1) Oceanic Aquarium Stands
Ocenanic offers stands in Pine, Oak, and Cherry finishes that match the trim on their aquarium product line. For aquariums with a different trim, cover strips are available that completely mask the original trim color.
2) Perfecto Aquarium Stands
Perfecto strikes a balance between cost and good looks by offering stands that require some assembly, thus reducing the cost to the purchaser. Models are available that include optional bookshelves within the stand, as well as smaller desktop units that are excellent for office aquariums.
3) All-Glass Aquarium Stands
The Modern Series product line from All Glass is available in Oak, Black, and Cherry finishes. These stands and canopies are matched to the trim on the aquarium itself. The combination makes for a very attractive finished product. Water beads up and does not leave stains on the finish. Curved wood, and high gloss stands are also available from the same manufacturer.
4) Metal Aquarium Stands
If cost is a concern, metal stands are an excellent alternative. They are sturdy, durable, and lightweight, yet fit within almost any budget. Most metal stands will accommodate two tanks, which is a great way for true fish lovers to keep even more aquariums. One key point to remember is that the feet of metal stands can rust, so place something under them if using them on a carpeted floor.
