Temperature has traditionally been what owners are cautioned about when taking a new fish home. Truth be told, temperature differences are usually not as dangerous to the fish as a significantly different pH. The mysterious death of a newly purchased fish is more likely to be the result of a major difference in pH than a temperature change.
