A big hurdle of maintaining a healthy community aquarium is finding the right foods for all the fish species in the tank. This review of flake foods will help you make good food choices to keep your community fish happy and healthy. If you have found a notably good or bad flake food, be sure to share your experiences with others.

Don't forget that when you open a can of fish food, you start the clock running on how long that food will retain it's nutritional value. In as little as a month many of the vitamins will be gone. So suppress the urge to buy those over-sized containers and opt for smaller containers. Last but not least, don't forget those bottom dwelling fish you have in your community aquarium. They often go hungry while the rest of your fish are feast at the surface. Supplement the flakes with a sinking wafer or pellet food for your bottom dwelling friends.
