I read your article of the “Old Tank Syndrome” and found it to be very informing, and it hit upon a painful memory I have. I too am a blogger, and an aquarium owner and to be truthful, (and I’m ashamed to admit ) but I too have had the the Old Tank Syndrome happen to my one of my tanks. I was so busy packing up and making all the plans for a move to a new home in a different state , that I completely forgot to ensure their proper water conditions. I also know that for every time a fish breathes in, it breathes out ammonia! I felt awful knowing how poor their water quality was, especially after getting their test results back . OMG! You may have thought that I was a newbie at this, but thankfully my fish were troopers and lives to tell their story of woe. It was a lesson learned for sure.
