A fellow aquarium owner sent me a photo of his live planted aquarium, and commented that he rarely uses plastic plants and doesn't understand why so many others use artificial plants. It got me to thinking about my first aquarium. Live plants were essentially the only plant option then, and I had to learn by trial and error how to keep them healthy and attractive.These days plastic and silk artificial plants are in abundance.
