Thin the Swords?

Tuesday November 18, 2008
Once you get past the battle of keeping your plants alive, you just might find you have another battle - keeping the growth under control! Should this forum member trim them? Check the forum for her photos and give her your advice!

"We have a 14g Biocube with live plants: java ferns, wisteria, some tall crinkled grass (don't recall the name), swords, dwarf lily, tiger lotus, & wendtii. Our fish include: 3 diamonds, 8 neons, 6 rummynose, 3 cory cats, 1 Siamese algae eater. The swords have spread and become thick in some areas (see photos). I don't mind the plant density, but do I need to thin them at some point for the health of the tank - or does it not matter as long as I prune dying plants/leaves? "
