Phosphates in the Aquarium

Phosphates (PO4) are present in every aquarium, even though many owners aren't aware of it. Even if the aquarium is well maintained the phosphate levels can rise and contribute to algae growth. Here is how to avoid excessive phosphates in your tank, or reduce them if they get too high.
