Changing the Care of Fiddler Crabs

Wednesday July 16, 2008
Have you ever seen a tank full of crabs waving one claw about? Odds are good that they were Fiddler Crabs. Unfortunately odds are also high that they were not being kept in the proper conditions.

Fiddler Crabs need brackish water, and regular access to dry land. Before you bring one home, be sure to research the proper care for your Fiddler Crab.

If you see them being improperly cared for at the pet shop, don't assume you can't make a difference. This customer was able to bring the issue of Fiddler Crab care forward to a person who was in a position to make a change in a significant way. Here is his story about changing the care of Fiddler Crabs.
