What Else Can Go Wrong?

LFS suggested some kind of buffering stuff or a 50% water change. Said that a water change would set my cycle back. (Why? when bacteria are fixed to surfaces?) ... While doing the water change I neglected to unplug the heater. I paniced, and tried to submerge it, stupid move! It exploded from thermal shock. Cut off the power, and removed heater. .....
