I have had numereuous pearl gouramis and they are everything but peaceful, they are aggressive and always try to pick fights with other fish.
I have had about 10 all together and all ten acted the same way.
They where all from differnt eras of time so they are not related either.
it would seem that the first one or more that you bought had a desease which does not kill the fish but can make it go crazy and harm other fish and your first gourami fish has given the disease to the other gouramis. the disease is called monographinja and is not common. i would get rid of them as soon as i could. this disease will only spread through gouramis though.
